Oral Health Seminars
We conduct oral health seminars in schools to educate children on the impact of dental health and teach proper brushing and flossing techniques and the importance of a healthy diet to raise awareness of dental disease. Schools are in a unique position to integrate dental health education and equip children with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain good oral hygiene. We also distribute educational brochures on oral health in schools and have partnered with dental offices to present oral health seminars in local schools.
Educational outreach in India
We work with local dentists to present oral health seminars for children in the local communities, screen for dental problems, and present demonstrations on effective hygiene techniques and diet.
Distribution of free hygiene supplies
We distribute free hygiene kits during our oral health seminars which include toothbrushes, toothpaste, flossers, fluoridated mouth rinses, and dental health brochures. Hygiene supplies are also distributed on mobile dental buses to underserved counties in Georgia and through the Colgate Bright Smiles program. Working on the model of ‘Doctors Without Borders,’ suitcases with dental hygiene kits are transported to Delhi and distributed to families in the slums, Ekal village schools, and orphanages.
Dental Treatment and Screenings
We promote a network of dental providers, Medicaid offices, mobile buses, and government hospitals that provide free or low-cost dental services, oral cancer screenings, and days of free dentistry, to ensure that underserved communities are able to access preventive care and receive treatment for dental problems.
Oral Cancer Awareness and Screenings
We partner with the Oral Cancer Foundation to organize oral cancer campaigns and connect people to dentist for free screenings. We also distribute informational multi-lingual oral cancer pamphlets to dental offices, refugee settlement areas, and the slums in India to educate people about the vital importance of early detection to save lives. We connect patients to government hospitals with cancer care units for biopsies of suspicious lesions and treatment of oral cancer.
